Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions and the corresponding answers concerning Tip of the Spear Training Group, firearms academy and our services. If you have a question that is not answered below, please feel free to contact us. Please note that, due to the nature of our work, we are not always immediately accessible during normal business hours.
A: You will receive a certificate from us after completion of the course. We are not a state agency and you will have to apply for your license through the state and provide them with your certificate of completion.
A: You do not need to bring your weapon as we provide everything for you to include a weapon.
A: We list all of our CCW and Handgun 1 courses on our partner website ShootingClasses.com All of those classes are listed a year in advance and you can see the next available class date on there. If there is a course that you want and it is not listed, please email us and we will get it on the schedule.
A: We do offer private lessons. Private individual lessons are $100 per hour with a 3-hour minimum and can be customized to suit your training needs. You may add up to two additional students with that single instructor for an additional $50 per hour, per student. Private group lessons for civilians are $200 per person for a full day of training with an 8-person (or $1,600) minimum. Private group lessons for agencies require custom quotes depending on the training needed and number of students. If you would like to schedule training, let us know through our Contact Us page.
A: Deposits and payments are only refundable in the event that TotSTG cancels or postpones a course for any reason other than inclement weather. In the event of a non-weather-related cancelation, refunds will be issued minus a 5% service charge, or a student can choose to keep their full deposit/payment amount on file as a credit to be put toward a future TotSTG course. If a student needs to withdraw their registration from a course, they must do so at least one week prior to the scheduled course date. If a cancellation is received at least one week prior to the course, the student's deposit/payment can be held on file as a credit that can be put toward any future TotSTG course within 18 months. If a cancellation is received less than one week prior to the course date, the student's deposit/payment is non-refundable and cannot be held on file as a credit. If a course must be postponed or canceled due to inclement weather, all registered students' deposits/payments will be held on file as a credit to be put toward a future TotSTG course within 18 months of the original training date. We still train in inclement weather. Train to fight, fight to win.
A. We do not process your application for a CCW license, however our CCW Basic Course will give you required paperwork to apply with the State of FL for your CCW license. This is the fastest way to obtain your CCW license.
A: TotSTG is not currently hiring. We do not accept applications for employment. Please do not email us your resume.
